IEN at Triple Helix Conference

IEN Team has organized a workshop on “Using Social Media to Leverage Triple Helix Insights in Innovation Ecosystems” at the Triple Helix Conference in Madrid, Spain on Oct 21st, 2010

The workshop was aimed to explore the use of social media based data-sets as well as the possibilities of visualization in innovation research. Dr. Kaisa Still (newly associated with VTT Technical Research Center of Finland) and Prof. Neil Rubens with remote participation of Jukka Huhtamaki together presented.

Within two hours, IEN team showed regional case studies developed using IEN data-set, using the open source social network analysis tool NodeXL, as well as other tools. The workshop gave IEN team a chance to share insights, goals and results among people involved in technology-based business development (in many roles of the triple helix—in academia, in industry and in government).

Since the tone of the workshop was informal and questions and comments were very welcomed, it resulted in fruitful interactions with the participants.  We want to thank all of the participants for their time and contributions, and are looking forward to continuing collaboration!
